BOYS OF NEW YORK: Hakeem Nieght at Red for Carbon Copy #25

By Nathan Best In Carbon Copy, Interviews, Menswear

For our Boys Of New York series, I caught up with Hakeem Nieght of Red Models between shows during New York Fashion Week Men’s  Spring/Summer 2018. Hakeem is a favorite and a familiar face in editorials, campaigns, and on the runway. I asked him 7 questions about his Fashion Week experience. This was his response!

1. How’s it going, Hakeem? How old are you and how long have you been modeling?
Hey all is well, I’ve been a model almost a year now but I started taking it seriously in end of  March going into April.

2. Which shows were you in?
I was in 4 ( Robert Geller, Band of outsiders, Daniel Patrick, and Landlord)

3. What is your favorite brand?
My favorite brand would have to be Off White. I feel it’s the perfect combination of street style and high fashion.

4. What foods did you basically survive on during the week?
My boys and I honestly survived on dollar slices and croissants, only because we’re always on the go in between shows and running from place to place that we never actually get a chance to sit down and eat, so that and a lot of water.

5. Did you run into any famous celebrities?
There were a lot of celebrities at my shows like Fabulous, Kelly Ombre and more.

6. Which model friend(s) did you hang out with the most?
That sort of depended on who did the shows with me, I had at least 1 good model friend of mine for every show, but other than just the shows, David Marquez, Tyler Reid, and Adrian Noir.

7. Give us 4 words that describe your experience at New York Men’s Fashion Week.
Paced, Excitement, Anticipation, Social
