Mura Masa is a Brighton/Guernsey producer who has been releasing music since 2014 when he released his debut album ‘Soundtrack To A Death’. His unique style of production fused a beautiful mish-mash of quirky lofi sounding sampled instruments with pitched vocal stabs and throbbing sub and pad synths. The debut album raised quite a few eyebrows with interest and is definitely worth a listen if you’re a fan of popular artists such as Jamie xx and James Blake (links underneath).
His follow up seven track release ‘Someday Somewhere’ took Mura Masa’s music to a different level of skill and creativity. The addition of singers floating over the top of his complex production, the tracks take on a whole different immersive feel. The release features singers ‘NAO’, ‘Denai Moore’ and rapper ‘Jay Prince’ and you can listen to it in full below..
Mura Masa has recently released his new single ‘What If I Go?’ featuring vocalist Bonzai. It could be said that this is his catchiest banger of a tune to date. The stuck-in-your-head-all-day lyrics ‘Where ever you go, I’m going with you babe’, are supported by hard hitting sampled drums and saturated synths and will have you itching to hear more.
