The Ruffs are a four piece rock band from Nottingham. Founded by songwriter Connor Spray back in 2013, the band didn’t properly form until early last year. Connor told Carbon Copy…
‘There wasn’t anyone I knew that was into making a band at the time, so I started out solo in 2013 with the intentions of coming across like minded people eventually, to give the songs I was writing the bollocks they needed!’
…and boy did he find it. The fiery four piece now consists of Connors brother Tyler Spray on drums, Matt Wright on lead guitar and Blaine Monk on Bass. Their sound is gritty slap-in-the-face guitar riffs accompanied by punchy drums, solid beefy bass lines and Connor’s as-British-as-it-gets powerful vocals. Check out their track ‘Godspeed’ below…
With a few nice gigs under their belt already like the BBC Introducing East Midlands at Rough Trade and Dot to Dot Festival, the band are definitely moving in the right direction. This month alone they have gigs in London for ‘Sofa Sounds’ on the 25th & 26th and Nottingham’s ‘Rock City’ supporting The Bluetones.
The band are busy writing their debut album too so stayed tuned for updates in the near future, but for the time being check out the music video for the catchy tune ‘MST’ below…
