Jamie XX first proved himself as a incredibly talented and producer with his band The XX, followed swiftly by an array of very impressive solo DJ sets, which ultimately resulted in last years debut solo album ‘In Colour’. The album was an absolute triumph, and really showed Jamie’s incredibly diverse and eclectic taste in music, sampling everything from The Whitest Boy Alive to Alicia Keys and grabbing old classic artists like Gloria Gaynor and The Persuasions along the way too.

This week saw the release of the music video for the first track off the album titled ‘Gosh’. The video was directed by the highly acclaimed Romain Gavras, who you might know from other incredible work like M.I.A’s track ‘Bad Girls’. Jamie xx was over the moon that Romain was involved as he told Apple Music upon its release,

“Romain Gavras has directed some of my very favourite music videos, I’m so happy that my music inspired him to make something this incredible for GOSH…”

And boy did Gavras produce the goods! The video is intriguing, gripping and framed to perfection from start to finish. Shot in filmed in the nearly unoccupied Chinese city of Tianducheng, in a eerie faux-Paris town. It really is one of those videos that isn’t worth describing, just watch it below in full for yourself…
