This past weekend, Marvel’s Black Panther movie opening was wildly successful, surpassing all expectation with the highest 3-day debut for a film launched in February. Marvel’s worldwide take as of today is $426.6 million. This is an awesome performance for the film starring Chadwick Boseman and directed by Ryan Coogler. Black Panther resonates with fans on so many levels.
Directed by Dave Meyers and the little homies, this stunning masterpiece opens with Kendrick sailing in a hand made vessel buoyed by a legion of hands, transitioning to scenes of SZA singing “All the stars are closer.” as she moves through a galaxy of stars. there are visuals of Black elegance set against a poor village. The video culminates when Kendrick wanders into a great hall and encounters several gilded Nubian goddesses.
“All the Stars,” the lead single from the Black Panther soundtrack by Mr. Lamar and SZA, currently sits at No. 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, and its music video was played more than 9 million times on YouTube in its first four days.
‘Black Panther: The Album’ curated by Lamar, who alone has 5 features is heading for a No. 1 debut on next week’s Billboard 200 albums chart, according to industry forecasters.
